When you crave a slice, but you’re not sure of what:

I think this doodle is an appropriate way of finishing Inktober. Now I just need to decide if I want to celebrate the end of this fun month of food drawings with cake or pizza.

That face when you (I) forget that the coffee has been sitting on the desk for an hour and you drink a big gulp of cold coffee:
Badminton doubles are really fun, and I know they don’t normally include 2 shuttlecocks, also I’m doubling my daily coffee intake to try to finish Inktober, okay bye!!
I know a cat who loves her humans very much…
… and sometimes brings them gifts.
Thunder coffee:
In Denmark there’s something called “thunder coffee” which to me means brewing strong coffee in the middle of the night while you wait for a thunderstorm to pass.
Update after a quick search online:
Supposedly the compound word “tordenkaffe” (thunder coffee) originated because people in rural areas would drink coffee to stay awake during a thunderstorm if a lightning would strike. I wonder if it exists in other languages? It doesn’t seem to be a thing in English, at least not as far as I could (quickly) Google.
I’m not a fan of thunder and lightning, but I’m quite happy that we’re getting into proper autumn weather in Denmark at the moment with lower temperatures and rain.
Wow, this last week of Inktober is turning out to be the most challenging bit! I really want to finish, but I’m having a hard time finding inspiration for something fun to draw these days. Hopefully the next couple of days will be better.
Stretch Pumpkin:
I didn’t get to drawing yesterday, because I spent the day applying for jobs, making a silly video for my own entertainment, knitting a red, woolly hat for my boyfriend and playing boardgames with friends. All in all a great Friday!
It worked out fine that I didn’t make my Inktober drawing yesterday, because I found my inspiration for the prompt ‘stretch’ today – Looking out the window I noticed this very tall pumpkin on a window ledge on the opposite building.
I added the small one in the drawing for fun. I love drawing pumpkins!
Pineapples are all very prickly inside and out, but especially this one:
When I was a student I worked in an icecream shop for 4 years during the summers, where I learned that pineapples are ripe when you can easily pull out a leaf.
I like the taste, but these angry fruits make my mouth sting like crazy, so I rarely eat them. And if the fruit is as angry as the one I drew here, it’s definitely not worth the aggravation.
To be honest the facial expression is inspired a little bit by me trying to learn to paint with gouache these past couple of days 😂
I’m trying out gouache painting these days, so I decided to paint today’s quick Inktober doodle instead of inking with a pen:
Painting (contrary to drawing) has never been something I’ve felt natural (or even fun) to do.
But I want to expand my creative toolbox and I’m having lots of fun with gouache and playing with colours at the moment.
Some of the paintings might make it to the blog at some point, if they don’t end up in the rather big pile of creative projects/materials that I used for a week and then didn’t get back to. There’s so much yarn, guys.
I’m pausing the food theme today because I had to draw a mountainbike for the prompt “muddy”:
I’m always trying to improve my bike drawing skills and I think I’m improving a little tiny bit everytime. My boyfriend loves mountainbikes and mountainbiking and the muddy season that we’re heading into, and I’m fortunate to have him as a ruthless consultant (see my post Bike practice for examples of his useful comments).
This time I managed to draw the layout of the frame before helplessly googling “bike”:
Which is great progress for me!
I kind of forgot the seat post, and I made the tires too fat for the wheels to turn 😕
But whatever, small steps forward (like with my actual mountainbike practice).
Happy truffle pig loves Mondays because it means a new week of searching for gourmet goodies in the ground:
I’m assuming truffle pigs work normal hours and have the weekends off to rest their snouts, but I don’t know.
