November faces

It’s getting colder and darker in Denmark at the moment. The perfect season for doodling some colourful Winter people:

Winter time is doodle time!

I don’t mind the cold and the grey landscape so much, but the dark is starting to get to my brain a bit. Everytime I take a nap or go to bed at night, it goes “Oh well, time to hibernate for 6 months”.

So doodling helps me stay awake for a bit after dinner so I don’t go to bed at 8 p.m. 😀 And adding colour feels great.

I haven’t actually seen any of these Winter people IRL; they are drawn from imagination like most of my doodle people.

Except for the yellow wellies! I recently got similar ones myself, and they contribute to adding some colour to these grey days. I’ve even worn them out to eat because I like them so much.

Maybe I should get a crazy, blue fuzzy hat too!

The first week of #inktober – ish

Hi guys, I’ve been doodling away over on my Instagram for the #inktober challenge. It’s so much fun!

I’m trying to follow two prompt lists at the same time – from illustrators @katnippillustration and @viktorijaillustration. Combining two words has made some fun combinations so far. I recommend you check out both of their accounts, they make some really great things.

I thought I’d do weekly (ish) roundups here as well. So, here we go! I just made this drawing this morning, and I’m quite happy with it:

Yesterday, I caught up on two days of doodles with this “familiar bottle” and “tree costume”.

And here are the posts from last week:

I already shared Day 1 of Inktober here on the blog.

Follow me on Instagram @wordsanddoodlesblog if you want to see the doodles I make (almost) every day. If not, there’ll be another collection here later 🙂

Also – I recently made an account over here:

Check it out if you want to support my doodlings and verbal ramblings. And as you might know, I also have a Redbubble shop with some cute stuff, if I must say so myself 😀

Doodle shop!

Hello guys, I’m excited to share that I’ve started a small shop on the site Redbubble. So far, I’ve uploaded 7 designs, including my Happy Dragon and my morning doodles – but I’m planning to make lots more.

Some of my product designs 🙂

You can check out my shop here, and see the stickers, mugs, tote bags and other products I chose to put my doodles on:

I’d be so happy if you would favorite the ones you like, or even buy something if you feel like it. Like it says in my Redbubble bio, it would be so fun to see some of my doodles travel the world.

If you do buy anything and take a photo, please tag me on Instagram with @wordsanddoodlesblog or #wordsanddoodles. I’d love to see where they go!

Also – let me know if there are any of the doodles here on the blog that you would like to see as a product in the Redbubble shop 🙂

German doodles #1

My recent trip to the Harz, Germany mainly consisted of cycling in hilly terrain and eating delicious german food. Which is a hardcore combination!
But I also had time to draw some quick doodles during cake breaks in a small notebook that I carried around with me. Most of them are inspired by people (and dogs) that I noticed somewhere. Here’s the first batch:

“Look, honey – there’s that thing!”

“I smell curry wurst.”

Cool and calm cake-chopping lady.

A dad camping with 3 small kids.

Me swimming in a fresh-water pool.

Tired teenager on family vacation.

Better Safe Than Sorry…

'AKA I'm trapped in my own preparedness, please let it start to rain soon.'
‘AKA I’m trapped in my own preparedness, please let it start raining soon.’

”You’re really… Prepared!”, A British lady once said to me when I walked into a room at university completely soaked in my rain suit. My polite response was: ”Hah, yeah!” but I was thinking: ”HELL YEAH I AM! I’m so utterly and completely prepared for ANY type of weather, ESPECIALLY RAIN, and who are you to kind of judge me for it, and why doesn’t everyone wear rainy pants when it’s rainy outside?!”

Anyway, that was a while back. And my rainy clothes (as I still like to call them for lack of a better word in English) have long needed an update. So after a very rainy couple of weeks and being soaked to the bone several times (even while wearing said rainy coat and rainy pants), I spent a whole afternoon looking for the most waterproof and not too idiotic looking new set. And I got it. Aaaand it hasn’t rained since. But I obviously insist on wearing my raincoat whenever I go outside, because I’m always SUPER PREPARED, like the lady said. And her comment made me want to OWN IT! I recently found the above doodle. I don’t remember when I drew it, but its facial expression perfectly expresses my feeling when I walk in the sun with a raincoat on, quietly mumbling to myself like a lunatic: ”Just start raining, just a little bit. Come on. Okay don’t, but I’m PREPARED.”

Grown-ups in the house

'1, 2, 3 - No more school for me'
‘1, 2, 3 – No more school for me’

It’s been a good week for the flat! My awesome roommate has been working her ass off and now finally got a job with pay – so yay! I made her pancakes and a doodle to celebrate (did I just find a way to make that about me? Yes). I also got my final grade this week, so I’m officially no longer a student. We don’t get a fancy hat when we graduate university in Denmark, but it looked better in the doodle than a stack of papers.
