More beachy people

When I’d started I just couldn’t stop drawing people at the beach. Here are some more:

The apprehensive guy with the bucket hat is a different version of the guy in the yellow bathing suit in my first beach doodle post. And he’s basically me at the beach when I haven’t gone for a while. I don’t want to get nipped by a crab!

Also, did you watch my drawing video of my other beach doodles? I’m definitely better at drawing doodles than I am at editing videos, but I also have about 20 years more experience with the former 😀

I’m working on some other non-beach doodles, so they’ll hopefully be up soon.

Drawing video: Beach people

I made this video yesterday during one of my beach people doodle sessions:

I’m still very new to filming and editing drawing videos, but it’s something I’m planning to do more of.

I’m learning about what angles work best and how I get proper lighting in a relatively dark apartment. This video is actually filmed upside down – with the camera in front of me – and then flipped 180 degrees. Which I think works okay.

It takes me a while to edit, but it’s also really fun, and it’s kind of weird to watch my own hands drawing 😀

Let me know if you have any other tips on how to film a drawing process!

Beachy people

Some people go to the beach when it’s hot outside and they’re on summer vacation.

My favourite thing to do these days, however, is to stay inside and doodle. Yesterday I drew these cool people at the beach:

I do actually love swimming in the sea, but right now I just want to spend all day doing my indoor hobbies which are basically only three things: baking, feeding my sourdough starter and drawing.

I go outside for a bit when it’s cool at night, so I guess I’m kind of like a vampire. Well, I don’t know how much drawing and baking vampires do while staying out of the sun. Maybe they are just people with a lot of indoor hobbies who got a bad rep. And maybe I should stop this tangent and get some fresh air…

I also made a video of my drawing process for the first doodle, which I’ll be posting later today. **Update: It’s here:

Peach at the beach

Summer has been incredibly hot in Denmark this year, and I drew this doodle on a warm day in late July while still on vacation. I didn’t get around to post it then – probably because I was too lazy in the heat and my hands were too sweaty for typing.

Anyway, if it’s not obvious, the inspiration for this doodle is the peach emoji. The peach meaning “butt” is very old news, but my doodle ended up as a relatively proper bathing suit version.

I haven’t seen this bathing suit design IRL anywhere, but it would be great if it exists.

Yum, SANDwiches!

In a country where beach season normally lasts 10 days spread out over the course of 3 months, summer just seems to get hotter and hotter! I noticed that some Danes (including myself) are getting quite restless, now that they can’t complain about the weather, besides saying things like ”It’s almost TOO hot now, isn’t it!?”. I even caught myself saying (sarcastically) ”Well, winter will be here in 2 weeks anyway”, which I thought was hilarious, but actually just bummed everyone out. Especially since I was in an international setting and unfortunately not everyone immediately got that I was kidding. Obviously winter won’t be here for at least another 4 weeks.
