The most cruel thing you can say to a pumpkin this close to Halloween is probably:

People sometimes tell me my drawings are cute. I guess they are, and I mostly don’t mind getting the comment, because I know I like to draw cute and fun things.

However, I don’t necessarily aim for every doodle to turn out cute, it often just happens anyway!

I also draw a lot of ugly, half-finished, abstract, boring and weird doodles that don’t make it to the blog. But I might start sharing some of those, for more artistic diversity.

The creative orange juices are flowing!

I have trouble drawing glass/ transparent objects, so this was mainly an exercise in that. I’m not thrilled with the result, but the point of Inktober is to practice, so that’s what I’ll do.

I got new Stabilo markers for my birthday which I’m using to put a bit of colour on my Inktober doodles.

I also got gouache paint which I’ve never really used before, so I want to get into that soon.

The wonderful, beige, smelly goo that is my sourdough starter is very precious to me.

I haven’t checked yet, but I’m hoping there’ll be lots of Gollums on Inktober today for the prompt “precious”.

If I got the question: “There’s a fire in your house, what do you grab before running out of the building?”, I think I would answer: “My sourdough!”.

If my boyfriend and neighbours were safe, obviously! I’m not Gollum (yet).

I actually had a dream last night that there was a fire and I got out of the house in a non-dramatic way. So I decided to go back in through the window to get my phone.

When I told my boyfriend about the dream this morning, he immediately yelled:

“YOU DON’T GO BACK FOR THE PHONE!”

Like he thought I was going to do that IRL. Which I don’t think I would do. I have a feeling he wouldn’t react well to me running to get my sourdough starter either.

I wonder who’s more exhausted today: me after a whole weekend of birthday celebrations (yay/yikes, I’m 30!) – or the actor who played Tarzan in the musical that I went to see yesterday.

Probably me, because Tarzan is in a lot better shape than I am. Which justifies me posting this a day late, maybe!

I’m super happy as well, though – about the musical as well as all the birthday fun.

The prompt for Day 2 of Inktober is “tranquil” and my brianstorm quickly centered around coffee. Partly inspired by all the cool coffee art in my feeds yesterday (apparently a kind of coffee celebration day?).

When I REALLY tried to think past coffee (which is difficult at any moment of my day), I thought of yoga. So here we go:

Dont know how tranquil that experience would be IRL.
