Hello everyone, it’s a new year and I’m here! And apparently I’m rhyming now. I’ve been doodling a lot this past month, especially on paper – but haven’t managed to get anything posted on here. Until now!
On my street there’s this handrail down to a basement shop that reaches out into the narrow sidewalk. This situation makes it difficult for people to pass each other, and it inspired a couple of doodles:
The people are made up and not actual characters I’ve seen on the street, but I love drawing random people, and especially deciding what outfits to put them in.
I might make more of these, especially since it took me forever to draw the background. But it was a fun challenge to draw something with a bit of perspective. Also – fun fact: I had to google “car” to get close to drawing something that looked anything like the back of a car.
Process: I drew the sketch for the background on paper first, then transferred it to Illustrator and redrew it digitally. And then I added a digital sketch of the people, put in some colours and then drew the final black line.
