Blob dogs

These puppers are only now realising that they’re on summer break. And it’s a very blobby feeling! (Yes I’m on summer break from today and my brain is a blob).

You’re welcome to print out the blobby dogs and put them on your office door (or wherever you work) to let your colleagues know when you’re away for the summer. I put a less creative tiny note on my door today, since I hadn’t made these blobs yet. Maybe I’ll make a “back to work” or “Hello I’m back” version in August.

This blob dog was the first one I doodled:

It showed up in the middle of another drawing and inspired the making of the rest of the pups, so I decided to honour it with its own colours (which very much makes it look like a balloon animal).

Lots of pelicans

It started with a simple enough question: “Can you draw a pelican kind of in the same style as the bear?”

Me: Sure!

Eh, I’d better Google what a pelican actually looks like.

There!

Except, they probably live near the sea and not in small lakes…

So here it is on a rock in some water:

One of the things that came up in the google image search were flying pelicans with their legs tucked in. Which is now one of my favourite things to draw:

What was the question again?…

It’s raining pets

Last weekend I went to visit my parents (and their cat and dog) and I’ve been drawing heaps of friendly pets since then. Here’s a selection:

My parents’ pets are in a love-scratch relationship (the dog loves the cat and the cat scratches the dog in its big drooling face).

I drew these beasts individually on paper and then gave them a bit of digital editing (and put them together two and two).
